MorphyNotes
A chess study notebook. A coach named Paul Morphy. One principle binding the two.
The notebook is the product. Morphy is the coach who holds you to it.
The principle
You improve by thinking, not by watching. So the notebook goes first — your observations, your hypotheses, your doubts — and Morphy answers to that work, never in place of it.
For whom
Players who mean it. The ones who already annotate, who lose sleep over the same mistake, who want a coach to push back when they shrug.
Casual players are welcome. The app is built for the one who isn't.
The loop
- Bring a game. PGN, Lichess, Chess.com, a custom position.
- Walk the moves. Write what you see. Before asking anything.
- Then Morphy. Show him nothing and he sends you back. Show him something and he meets you there.
- The notebook accrues. Game by game it becomes your library — tagged, sectioned, searchable, yours.
What it is not
Not an engine interface. Not a tactics trainer. Not a feed to scroll. The work is yours; the app makes it count.
